What could be sweeter than a slice of watermelon on a hot day? Why, keeping that feeling around all summer long! You can do just that, with the Watermelon Splash Lantern. This sweet and sassy design will have your thirst quenched in no time.

Measuring 6×6″ and 11″ tall, this lantern is a sweet size to add as a summer centrepiece on your dining or coffee table. Alternatively, it looks great on an end table or cabinet and is perfect for smaller spaces. In addition, the lantern is also safe for outdoor use.  A delightful addition to your summer patio party, or a warm welcome to your friends.

The panels each have a unique design, with each panel showing a slightly different arrangement. In other words, any of the sides of the Watermelon Splash Lantern are intended to be viewed. The panels are hand crafted and installed into a quality metal lantern, ensuring you will receive a safe and durable lantern. Additionally, the lantern has a hinged door with a magnetic latch. Because of this, you can easily place your pillar candle or flickering LED inside to light up your spring scene. (Candle available separately here.)

How’s It Made?

Handcrafted from art glass, we create the Watermelon Splash Lantern using multiple steps. First, we cut and polish the clear glass to the appropriate size. Then, we create a gradient texture using glass powders. Next, we kiln fire the pieces to melt the powder into the clear glass. The colour is the glass itself, you won’t ever have to worry about the colour fading or washing off. Once the glass has cooled, we arrange the black glass seeds (also made of glass powders) on the surface and put the pieces back into the kiln. During the firings, the glass is annealed. Because of this, the strength and durability of the glass is increased, so you know it will easily withstand regular use.
