How’s It Made?

Handcrafted from art glass, we create the Summer Citrus Standup using multiple steps. First, we cut and polish the clear glass to the appropriate size. Then, we hand paint enamels in the outline of the citrus shapes. Once the enamel dries, we add brightly coloured yellow glass frits and arrange them inside the segments. Next, we kiln fire the pieces to melt the frits into the clear glass. The colour is the glass itself, you won’t ever have to worry about the colour fading or washing off. During the firings, the glass is annealed. Because of this, the strength and durability of the glass is increased, so you know it will easily withstand regular use.
