Everyone knows the saying “When life gives you lemons”, but do you know what else you can do with them?? The Summer Citrus Lantern can help you out with a few new ideas. This cheeky lantern will have guests chuckling at your lemons and asking for another glass of lemonade.

Measuring 6×6″ and 11″ tall, this lantern is a delightful size to add as a centrepiece on your dining or coffee table. Meanwhile, it also looks great on an end table or cabinet and is perfect for smaller spaces. Additionally, the lantern is also safe for outdoor use.  A perfect addition to your summer patio decor, or a warm welcome to your bbq guests.

The design on the panels has been hand painted, with opposing panels showing a unique arrangement. The panels are hand crafted and installed into a quality metal lantern, ensuring you will receive a safe and durable lantern. Additionally, the lantern has a hinged door with a magnetic latch. As such, you can easily place your pillar candle or flickering LED inside to light up your lemons. (Candle available separately here.)

How’s It Made?

Handcrafted from art glass, we create the Summer Citrus Lantern using multiple steps. First, we cut and polish the clear glass to the appropriate size. Then, we hand paint the citrus outlines with a custom blend of enamels. Next, cheerful yellow glass frits are added and arranged inside the citrus segments. This adds the fun texture to the design. For the lemons, we add a glass powder for the vibrant designs. Because the colour is the glass itself, you won’t ever have to worry about the colour fading or washing off. Finally, we kiln-fire the glass panels to a low temperature to ensure the texture will reflect light off the curved surfaces. During the firing, the glass is annealed. Because of this, the strength and durability of the glass is increased, so you know it will easily withstand regular use. Once the glass cools, we hand paint the lettering onto the panels and send them back into the kiln to sinter the enamel into the glass. This means that the enamels can never wear off, and will last as long as you own the piece.
