Description:

The Stargazer Lily is easily one of the most recognizable lilies. With a flamboyant crimson-pink shading, this fused glass garden art is sure to attract attention in your flower beds. This type of lily has gently ruffled glass petals. As such, they catch the sunlight on many angles and sparkle amongst the lush foliage in your gardens. In addition, the vibrant pink fades to white edges, and the central green spikes draw your eye to the heart of the flower.

Measuring approximately 11″ in diameter and 5″ in depth, the substantial fused glass replica is an everlasting bloom to enjoy all summer. In other words, once your lilies have bloomed out for the season, you’ll still have plenty of beautiful colour in your gardens!

The Stargazer Lily is absolutely perfect when mounted on the copper stake, which can be secured into the soil in your garden. How it’s Made:

We create the Stargazer Lily using many steps. First, we cut the petals from sheet glass, grinding each piece to the right size and shape. Next, we place the petals in the kiln and fuse to the proper thickness. Once the petals cool, we add coloured glass powders and send the glass back into the kiln. After an appropriate colour density is achieved and speckles are added, the petals are slumped into the curved lily shape.

Each time we fire the glass, it is processed through an annealing cycle. This strengthens the glass by releasing internal stresses within the glass. In other words, your glass lily is more durable than regular glass and can be enjoyed for many years.

Once the glass is slumped and cooled, we drill the central hole in the lily. This allows the bolt to pass through the glass to secure to the copper garden stake, or to be mounted to the wall.

Stamens for the Stargazer Lily are soldered, and we add a patina to chemically darken the tips. Finally, we clean the stamens and attach them to the lily with either a bolt for copper garden stakes, or a wood screw for wall mounting.
