How’s It Made?

Handcrafted from art glass, we create the Sapphire Jewelry Set using multiple stages. First, we cut and polish the glass to the appropriate size. Next, we paint a liquid enamel colour onto the surface of the glass. Then, we arrange the second layer of glass. The enamel releases gases during the firing process, which are trapped beneath the second layer and create a unique bubble design. Because the colour is the enamel between layers of glass, you won’t ever have to worry about the colour fading, or the details peeling or washing off. Following this, we place the glass into the kiln and fire to a temperature to ensure the edges round slightly, while creating the interesting effervescent design. Once the glass is cooled, we hand drill the glass beads for the jewelry bail. During the kiln firing, the glass is annealed. Therefore, the strength and durability of the glass is increased, so you know the jewelry will easily withstand regular use.
