Measuring approximately 8×12″, this fused glass decor is a delightful size to bring a pop of colour to your space. Whether you add to your office, or brighten up your den, this piece of art is a delightful addition to any space.

Display your unique fused glass art in a hand-selected piece of natural driftwood. Standing on edge, the textured glass design will catch the light and glisten like undulating waves.

How’s It Made?

Handcrafted from art glass, we create the Sailing Away Summerscape using multiple steps. First, we cut and polish a piece clear glass to the appropriate size. Then, we prepare the ceramic casting mold using a spray to release the glass once it has been fired. Next, we lay down the coloured glass frits, layering to allow a blending effect, while minimizing any unwanted reactions between the colours. Once all of the frits are in place, we carefully place the clear glass on top. 

We kiln fire the glass to melt the coloured glass frits and sheet glass together, or fuse them together. The colour is the glass itself, you won’t ever have to worry about the colour fading or washing off. During the kiln firing, the glass is annealed. Because of this, the strength and durability of the glass is increased, so you know it will last for many years to come.
