Beautiful as a wild sunset, the Purple Haze Pendant is a fun and splashy summer necklace symbolizing a cool blue cocktail with a fun and sweet gradient. Don’t worry, this gradient won’t mix in if you shake it!
Measuring approximately 1” in diameter, this summer necklace will catch eyes and inspire compliments. The vibrant colour can easily coordinate with any summer outfit, and the smooth shape is perfect with any neckline!
Exclusive Purple Haze Recipe
- Ice
- 1 oz vodka
- 1 oz blue Curaçao
- 1 oz Grenadine syrup
- Sprite or Lemonade
- Lemon Slice for garnish
Fill a tall glass with ice. Add the vodka, Curaçao and mix to create a uniform blue. Slowly add the grenadine to create the purple at the bottom.
Serve immediately without stirring, wowing your friends with your bartending skills.
How it’s Made:
The Purple Haze Pendant is made using a series of steps. First, we cut a strip of blue glass, adding a gradient of powdered glass onto one side. We fire the strip of glass to a low temperature to melt the powder to the sheet glass.
Once cooled, we cut the strip into pieces. The pieces are ground to a circle using a diamond grinder. Once the pieces are washed, we arrange the blue layer with a layer of clear glass into the kiln. We fire the pendant to fully fuse the two layers together.
During the firing, we anneal the glass. This relieves any internal stresses within the glass, giving it more strength and durability so you can enjoy your summer necklace for many years. The colour in this fused glass pendant is the glass itself, which means it will never fade or wash off.
Once the pendant has cooled, we drill each pendant by hand to allow for a wire bail. Next, we tie a black satin weave rayon cord using a special sliding knot. This allows you to adjust the length of the necklace to your preferred length.
