Summer sun melts everything into one, and these earrings are no different! Purple melts into blue in the Purple Haze Earrings. Just like the haze on the horizon, this blend fades until you aren’t sure where one colour ends and the next begins!
The Purple Haze Earrings are available in two lengths; extra long 2″ drop earrings for when you feel more daring, or a slightly more conservative 1″ drop earring. This allows your choice of style and preference.Â
Exclusive Purple Haze Recipe
- Ice
- 1 oz vodka
- 1 oz blue Curaçao
- 1 oz Grenadine syrup
- Sprite or Lemonade
- Lemon Slice for garnishÂ
Fill a tall glass with ice. Add the vodka, Curaçao and mix to create a uniform blue. Slowly add the grenadine to create the purple at the bottom.
Serve immediately without stirring, wowing your friends with your bartending skills.
How it’s Made:
The Purple Haze Earrings are made using a series of steps. First, we cut long strips of blue glass and dust a layer of powder on one edge. Â Next, we fire the glass to a low temperature to fuse the powder into the surface of the sheet glass.
Once the glass cools, we cut the sheet into small 1/4″ strips for earrings. Then, we return the glass to the kiln for a second low temperature, just high enough to round the edges.
During the kiln firing, we anneal the glass which relieves internal stress within the glass. This creates a stronger and more durable piece of glass. In other words, you can confidently wear your Purple Haze Earrings every day, not just for special occasions.Â
Once cooled, we drill each earring by hand using a diamond drill bit. Then, using a wire bail, we attach a surgical stainless steel ear wire. This hypoallergenic ear wire minimizes any reactions from metal allergies, giving you comfortable, all-day wear!
The colour in these summer earrings is the glass itself, therefore will never fade or wash off. You can enjoy the vibrant colours for as long as you own the jewelry.
