Night Before Christmas Lantern
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro’ the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

The inviting design of the Night Before Christmas Lantern is warm and contemplative. It will remind you of waiting and hoping for Santa when you were small. Additionally, it lets you bring a little winter indoors while leaving the snow outside. Measuring 6×6″ and 11″ tall, this lantern is a perfect size to add as a conversational centrepiece on your dining or coffee table. Alternatively, it looks great on an end table or cabinet and is an ideal size for smaller spaces. In addition, the lantern is also safe for outdoor use. As such, you can display your lantern on the front step to warmly welcome guests.
The panels each have their own unique hand crafted design. In other words, no matter which side of the lantern is your favourite, your lantern will bring a feeling of warmth to your home. The panels are hand designed and installed into a quality metal lantern, ensuring you will receive a safe and durable lantern. Additionally, the lantern has a hinged door with a magnetic latch. As such, you can easily place your pillar candle or flickering LED light to backlight your evergreens. (Candle not included.)
How’s It Made?
Handcrafted from art glass, we create the Night Before Christmas Lantern using multiple steps. First, we cut and polish the clear glass to the appropriate size. Next, we cut glass blocks for the fireplace, arranged glass stockings, and carefully placed each flame in the fireplace. Then, we arranged glass frits for the Christmas tree, adding glass presents arranged around the tree. Because the colour is the glass itself, you won’t ever have to worry about the colour fading, or the design peeling or washing off. The winter panels have a fine layer of powdered glass sifted over the surface, and textured snowflake frits added. Following this, we place the four panels into the kiln and fire to a temperature to ensure the glass rounds and creates an interesting surface texture.
Once the glass is cooled, we hand paint the gold lustre onto the presents and the star for the tree, and again fire the glass to a low temperature. Because of this, it ensures the hand painted lustres are sintered into the surface of the glass, without losing any of the textured elements. During each kiln firing, the glass is annealed. Therefore, the strength and durability of the glass is increased, so you know it will easily withstand regular use.
