Description

How’s It Made?

Handcrafted from art glass, we create the Let It Snow Bowl with multiple elements. First, we cut the strips of glass and fit them together with precision. Then, we add coloured glass powders to the surface of the first layer, and to the top layer. This allows for the subtle depth in the bowl. Next, we place the glass into the kiln and fire it flat to melt the powders into the glass. The colour in the bowl is the glass itself. Therefore, you won’t ever have to worry that the colour and design will peel or fade in the sun.  Finally, we slump the bowl into a ceramic mold and it cools into the bowl shape. During each firing, the glass is annealed. Because of this, the strength and durability of the bowl are increased, so you know it will easily withstand daily use.
