Details:

A somber face peers through the icy leaves in the Jack Frost Lantern. The flickering candlelight catches the curves in the textured face, both on the front and back of the fused glass lantern. The opposite sides show an icy pattern on clear glass, which won’t melt onto your table.

Measuring approximately 6″ x 6″ x 11″ in height, this lantern is a delight whether displayed indoors, or out. How’s It Made?

We create the Jack Frost Lantern using multiple steps. First, we cut and polish the sheet glass to size. Using glass powders, frits and the prepared sheet glass, we cast the face into the glass panel. Because the colours are the glass itself, you won’t ever have to worry about the colour or details fading or washing off.

As the glass heats and becomes soft, it forms the shape of the ceramic texture plate. When it cools, it retains the shape and detail, creating the face and leaves.

During the firing process, we anneal the glass to strengthen it for durability. It relieves any internal stress within the glass, creating a more stable piece. Because of this, you can be sure to enjoy your lantern decor for many years to come.
