How’s It Made?

Handcrafted from art glass, we create the Frameless Kraken Window Panel using multiple steps. First, we cut and polish the swirling glass to the appropriate size, taking note of the directionality of the design swirls. Next, using silk screen stencils we create, we print the tentacle design onto the glass. Once we ensure the print is free of any defects, we place the glass into the kiln.

We kiln fire the pieces to sinter the enamel design into the surface of the glass. The swirling colour is the glass itself, you won’t ever have to worry about the colour fading or washing off. During the firings, the glass is annealed. Because of this, the strength and durability of the glass is increased, so you know it will easily withstand regular use.
