Measuring approximately 5×6″, this glass decor is a perfect size to bring a breath of colour to your space. Whether you add to your office, or brighten up your mantle, this piece of art is an earthy warm addition to any space.

Display your touchable fused glass art in your choice of wooden block display or clear acrylic easel. Either of the display options allow light to travel through the glass, for a sparkling and glowing display!

How’s It Made?

Handcrafted from art glass, we create the Evergreen Standup using multiple steps. First, we roll a slab of clay to the appropriate size. Next, we pressed live evergreen boughs into the clay, creating realistic and natural textures. (As an added bonus, the studio smelled amazing from the oils released as the foliage was crushed!) We dry the clay slabs, ensuring they remain perfectly flat. Once dry, we bisque fire the clay to be used as a casting mold for the glass.

We cut and polish the glass to the appropriate size. Next, we use coloured glass powders and frits to accent the details in the textured clay mold. Once the colours have been applied, we carefully place the sheet glass overtop and place the casting mold into the kiln.

We kiln fire the glass to allow the frits and the sheet glass to fuse together. The colour is the glass itself, you won’t ever have to worry about the colour fading or washing off. During the firing, the glass is annealed. Because of this, the strength and durability of the glass is increased, so you know it will last for as long as you own the Evergreen Standup glass art.
