Lightweight in design, this fused glass pendant is a joy to wear, at any length you choose. The colours in the Dandelion Pendant is the glass itself. The design is screen printed using glass enamels, and kiln fired into the surface of the glass. Because the colour is the glass itself, you never have to worry about the colour fading or washing off.

How it’s made:

The glass bead for this jewelry is first cut to size from a large piece of glass, then placed into the kiln in two layers for extra durability. The pendant is fired to melt the two layers into a single piece of glass. We screen print the dandelion motif by hand onto the surface of each pendant. After inspecting the print, the glass returns to the kiln for a low temperature sintering. This means we bring the temperature just high enough to soften the surface of the glass for the enamels to become permanent.

 During the firing process, the pendant is annealed for durability. Because of this, the pendant is strong enough for daily wear. With two size options for these pendants, you can choose a square approximately 1-1/2″ wide, or a rectangle approximately 1″ wide.

We drill the pendant to allow for the wire jewelry bail, and string the black satin weave rayon cording. We tie the cord using a double sliding knot, which allows the pendant length to be adjusted from approximately 25″ long, to as short as a choker style necklace.
