Description

Delight in the abstract bubbles in the Bubble Stud Earrings. Sparkling bubbles trapped within the glass contrast the vibrant colours of these fused glass earrings.

We hand paint the glass using enamels, which creates a unique design of delicate, everlasting bubbles. Depending on the amount of enamel used, some bubbles will be larger while others will be smaller.

Measuring approximately 1/4″ in size, these fused glass earrings are lightweight and delicate; comfortable enough for every day wear. However, the conservative size won’t take away from these interesting earrings. These gorgeous, one of a kind earrings are a perfect gift for your special someone.

How’s It Made?

Handcrafted from art glass, we create the Bubble Stud Earrings using multiple steps. First, we cut and polish the glass to the appropriate size. Next, we paint various colours of glass enamels on white glass and top with layer of clear glass. The enamel releases gases during the firing process, which become trapped under the softening clear glass. Because the colour is the enamel between the layers of glass, you won’t ever have to worry about the colour fading, or washing off. In other words, you can enjoy the vibrant colour of your Bubble Stud Earrings for as long as you own the jewelry.

Once we place the glass into the kiln, we fire to a temperature to ensure the edges fuse together completely, creating a softly rounded square bead. Once the glass is cooled, we prepare the glass for the adhesive. We use a two part UV glue for maximum strength. During the kiln firing, the glass is annealed. This means the strength and durability of the glass is increased, so you know the jewelry will easily withstand regular use.
