The bubbles!!! Find this piece this weekend at @luckygirlpopup in Wolseley!

I’ve had the idea to try this style of piece for a while now, and I’m so happy with how it turned out!!

I painted a blend of coloured enamels on a sheet of glass, then capped with another sheet. The second sheet traps the gases released by the paints as they heat in he kiln, which results in varying sizes of bubbles.

Part of what I love is that I need to let go of control of the outcome of this kind of piece. While I can guide where the larger bubbles will occur by adding thicker enamel, the bubbles really do what they want in the kiln, and it’s a complete surprise when I open it up the next morning 😉🥳
